How many books have you bought since Quarantine? I think I'm up to about twenty 🙈 call me crazy but the moment I couldn't just go to the library and get a book I decided I would buy those same books instead. It's been SO fun for me honestly. Now that I can go back to the library, I may slow down a bit. Do your books have to have a happy ending? I love books that have a happy ending and I have been finding myself reading more contemporary romance lately. Last year, I fell in love with The Friend Zone and Ms. Jimenez is back with her new one, The Happy Ever After Playlist. This book will make you laugh and cry and I can't recommend a better book to read right now. So, go out and pick it up right away and you will see what I'm talking about. She is an amazing writer! Synopsis: Two years after losing her fiancé, Sloan Monroe still can't seem to get her life back on track. But one trouble-making pup with a "take me home" look in his eyes is about to change everything. With her new pet by her side, Sloan finally starts to feel more like herself. Then, after weeks of unanswered texts, Tucker's owner reaches out. He's a musician on tour in Australia. And bottom line: He wants Tucker back. Well, Sloan's not about to give up her dog without a fight. But what if this Jason guy really loves Tucker? As their flirty texts turn into long calls, Sloan can't deny a connection. Jason is hot and nice and funny. There's no telling what could happen when they meet in person. The question is: With his music career on the rise, how long will Jason really stick around? And is it possible for Sloan to survive another heartbreak? #bookstagram #bookcommunity #booklover #cosyreads #mybeigelife #bibliophile #bookaesthetic #readforever #bookobsessed #amreading #bookish #booklove #igreads #bookworm #bookishlove #booknerdigans #prettybooks #prettybookspines #bookstagrammer #bookblogger #thebookstagram #booksbooksbooks #bookphotography #mybookfeatures #bookaddict #romancereader #instareads
-// QOTD //- What popular books have you not read yet?⠀ ⠀ 𝘔𝘦: I haven’t read any Harry Potter books 😯 I know. I plan to read them but I just haven’t gotten around to it. I’ve watched all the movies and loved those.⠀ ⠀ Also, all of the books in this stack are really good. Have you read any of them?
#lastlinesof Book : Normal People by Sally Rooney What's your review of this book? Which book you're currently reading and would suggest to add it to the TBR List for sure? Comment Below. • Post Inspired from @bibliophilly_ | Jess writes “She has never believed herself fit to be loved by any person. But now she has a new life, of which this is the first moment, and even after many years have passed she will still think: Yes, that was it, the beginning of my life.” I was so nervous to read this book for the longest time because I’ve heard so many mixed reviews; people either LOVE this book or they hate it and I was afraid of being on the side of hating it. Without a doubt, I can see why this book is so polarizing; it’s a deeply depressing read and the content warnings need to be taken very seriously. On top of that, the characters live their lives in the same cycle that repeats itself again and again. It’s hard to articulate exactly *why* I loved this book so much, except that I felt like it spoke to my soul. I wanted to crawl inside this book and just bathe myself in a pool of the depression it left me with. Sally Rooney writes such complex and moody characters and Normal People succeeded in putting me under its spell. I felt for Marianne and Connell, both in their inability to communicate their feelings and for their inability to stay away from each other. This book is NOT for everyone. If you want a fast-paced novel with lots of drama or a fun/light-hearted read, skip it. If you’re an emotional reader and want an intensely written character-driven novel, read some reviews, read the content warnings, and then decide for yourself. 🖤 Follow: @bibliophilly_ for amazing book reviews ✨🍁💜

You may know Chanel Miller as Emily Doe from the Brock Turner sexual assault case that was in the media a few years ago. In KNOW MY NAME, Chanel reclaims her identity with grace and strength. I read Chanel’s victim impact statement more than once when it was released in 2016. She has an extraordinary way with words and that shines through in this memoir. The reader sits alongside Chanel as she relives that night and everything that came after it. KNOW MY NAME shows the gruelling process of being a sexual assault victim within the criminal justice system while trying to heal at the same time. Everyone should read this book but at the very least please do read Chanel’s victim impact statement if you haven’t already. 5 stars ⭐️ . . . . . . #bookreview #review #book #bookstagram #bookish #ebook #bibliophile #bookworm #ilovebooks #read #igreads #bookstagrammer #booksbooksbooks #igbooks #readersofinstagram #knowmyname #booksconnectus
🪐 Pendragon: The Merchant of Death | D.J. MacHale | ⭐️⭐️⭐️ • 💭 Review: This one was filed under "books I've had since elementary school that were part of a series I started and never finished." (AKA Chapter 3 of my memoir ) I read books 1 - 6 in elementary and middle school and just never got around to finishing despite having books 7 - 9 on my shelves this whole time. Boy y'all this one is DATED. Specifically some fat shaming that is … but also some comments about race and physical appearance that are !!! (Also, just some general writing quirks that are very early 2000s - specifically non ironic use of onomatopoeias and the straight boy thoughts about girls. ) But the concept MacHale was undertaking here is still such an interesting concept to me, and I remember really liking a few of the worlds later in the series. Just interesting to revisit a cultural artifact of my childhood. • ⚠️ Trigger Warnings: Fat shaming • #️⃣ #IansReads
✨MY DARK VANESSA✨by Kate Elizabeth Russell 3.5/5 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️💫 ⠀⠀ I read this as part of @littlebookbirdie May #birdiebookclub and it was really hard for me to go into this novel with an open mind, due to reading so many polarising reviews. ⠀⠀ As most of you know the plot involving 15 year old Vanessa being groomed into a relationship with her English teacher, I’ll spare you the synopsis. 50 pages into 𝗠𝘆 𝗗𝗮𝗿𝗸 𝗩𝗮𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗮, and I was instantly uncomfortable, creeped out and cringing. I was hooked and at the same time wanting to put it away and never open it again. ⠀⠀ Vanessa was beyond irritating as a character, but I have an inkling that’s intentional? I just wanted to shake her and scream for her to see sense! There is manipulation from Strane from the outset, by making Vanessa believe that it was all her idea, that she started the relationship. ⠀⠀ “...𝑏𝑟𝑒𝑎𝑘𝑖𝑛𝑔 𝑚𝑒 𝑎𝑝𝑎𝑟𝑡, 𝑝𝑢𝑡𝑡𝑖𝑛𝑔 𝑚𝑒 𝑏𝑎𝑐𝑘 𝑡𝑜𝑔𝑒𝑡ℎ𝑒𝑟 𝑎𝑠 𝑠𝑜𝑚𝑒𝑜𝑛𝑒 𝑛𝑒𝑤.“ ⠀⠀ As a woman, I wanted and expected more from her character - but that’s a point of MDV right? She doesn’t think anything they did was wrong. ⠀⠀ In the end, I found it to be a lot of build up and background for a kinda predictable ending...? It fell flat for me. ⠀⠀ This is obviously a really tough subject matter to address and I think Russell has done a great job of bringing it to light. The fact that her writing made me physically feel while reading, is in itself wonderful.
💄Ⓑⓞⓞⓚ Ⓡⓔⓥⓘⓔⓦ💄 I read The Wife Between Us last month and I enjoyed the book albeit the somewhat predictable plot. It left me wanting to read other books by these authors, so I knew I had to read their next novel, An Anonymous Girl. Oh boy, this book took me by surprise! It exceeded my expectations in every way - the plot, characters and writing - were astounding! 𝙏𝙝𝙚 𝙎𝙩𝙤𝙧𝙮: An Anonymous Girl tells the story of Jessica Farris, a struggling make up artist for BeautyBuzz who inadvertently finds herself entangled in a web of lies and deception, when she signed up for Dr. Shields' morality and ethics research project. It is easy money for her - answer a few questions and earn $500. Since the first session went well, Jessica agrees to participate in more sessions but they become complicated later to a point where she is given real-life situation assignments. This is where everything is heading towards a downward spiral and Jessica begins to lose control of her life. 𝙈𝙮 𝙩𝙝𝙤𝙪𝙜𝙝𝙩𝙨: This is a binge-worthy thriller which had me guessing till the end. I personally don't think this is a fast-paced story. Honestly, it was somewhat slow-burn and frustrating to read at times too. No, not because it was terrible but because the anticipation to find out the motive of Dr. Shields was just killing me. There are a lot of twists and it's all about mind games! The characters are not really likeable but they fit perfectly in this convoluted story. This is a book with characters that you would love to hate! Overall, I personally find this to be better than The Wife Between Us. The story just pulls me in and it is so addicting! And I just found out that there will be a tv series adaptation?! I can't wait! I know it will be great! ❓𝕀𝕗 𝕪𝕠𝕦 𝕔𝕠𝕦𝕝𝕕 𝕣𝕖𝕒𝕕 𝕚𝕟 𝕒𝕟𝕪 𝕗𝕠𝕣𝕖𝕚𝕘𝕟 𝕝𝕒𝕟𝕘𝕦𝕒𝕘𝕖, 𝕨𝕙𝕚𝕔𝕙 𝕝𝕒𝕟𝕘𝕦𝕒𝕘𝕖 𝕨𝕠𝕦𝕝𝕕 𝕥𝕙𝕒𝕥 𝕓𝕖❓ 🅰️: Japanese 🌸 _____________________________ #bookworm #bibliophagist #bookphotography #mysteriousmurdermay #ananonymousgirl #greerhendricks #sarahpekkanen #thriller

🆆🅰🅸🆃 🆆🅸🆃🅷 🅼🅴 𝘳𝘦𝘷𝘪𝘦𝘸 ↴ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5/5 I’ve read this book twice now and Kate never gets old to me. She’s hilariously her own person and shameless in her actions. She gets inspiration from sitting inside a tire depot to write her smut romance..which is precisely where she meets our boy Miles. 𝐌𝐢𝐥𝐞𝐬 is straight book-boyfriend material who works at said tire depot. He noticed Kate right away..mostly because she was sneaking into the waiting area through the back entrance every chance she got. He had his own obstacles to overcome that truly prevented his willingness to be in any relationship. He was sweet, sexy and downright dirty through and through (In literally every way😂 ). This was a friends-to-lovers romance and I truly enjoyed reading Kate’s quirkiness finally get out of the friend zone. Honestly any book by @amydawsauthor is worth the money.

Happy Memorial Day! 🇺🇸 ⠀⠀ It’s been a stormy and rainy weekend here in Miami, so this weekend has consisted of organizing, watching movies, and reading. Open Book by Jessica Simpson • ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I’m a sucker for celebrity memoirs even if they’re celebrities I don’t follow that closely. Loved the memoirs by Gabrielle Union, Jonathan van Ness, and surprisingly Jessica Simpson. I say surprisingly because I guess I bought into the dumb blonde narrative created and perpetuated by her (her team? ) back in the early aughts when she was becoming famous for her personality more so than her music. But I love celebrity gossip so 🤷🏻♀️ ⠀⠀ This is an incredibly easy audiobook to listen to even though towards the end Simpson’s emotional voice acting was provoking serious side-eye from me 👀 Still, if you like celebrity gossip she gives a good bit detail into her romantic life and her various life struggles. I will say I never want to hear about John Mayer again in my life so if you just need one more reason to dislike him then you don’t have to look further than this memoir 😂 ⠀⠀ #rsvreads #notjustaprettybook #bookstagram #bibliophile #book #instaread #instabook #bookish #booklover #booknerd #bookworm #bookaholic #readmorebooks #reviewsneedlovetoo #bookrecs #becauseofreading #igreads #readingismagic #unitedbookstagram #bookishlove #bookfeature #bookaddict #bookcommunity #bookishfeature #booksofig #bookwormlife #goodreads #readersofinstagram #jessicasimpson #openbook
guest review time!!! 🥳🕺🏻✨🤸🏻♂️🤠⠀ ⠀ if you guys couldn’t already tell my brain is filled with one solitary cell that can only comprehend YA contemporary books. whoops! good think i have cool friends like emily ( @emilyabelow ) who has way more brain cells than me and reads 750 page books about winston churchill. everyone say hi emily!!!!!! i asked her to do a guest review for this bad boi just in case any of you are interested in historical nonfic. her thoughts:⠀ ⠀ Larson tells the story of Churchill’s first year in office (May 10, 1940-May 10, 1941 ) in a captivating, poignant read. The book is so well narrated that at times I found myself growing nervous about the outcome of the war (while simultaneously knowing full well the Allies eventually win ). He places lesser known, yet stunningly vibrant players alongside Churchill’s massive aura, telling the Blitz’s tragedy through human eyes. How sweet it was to read about true leadership.⠀ ⠀ look at that verbiage!! what a smart cookie. thanks for these thoughts em i’m glad you enjoyed. ⠀ ——————————⠀ emily’s overall rating: 4/5⠀ did it make her feel some typa way: “a great nostalgia for a time I didn’t live through but understand as the historical highpoint for exceptional leadership”⠀ is there someone in the plot she would kiss: churchill’s private secretary John Colville 😗
Do you want an enjoyable whodunit novel to read by the pool this summer? Then I have the PERFECT book for you! Big Summer by Jennifer Weiner combines a few of my favorite things: friendship, romance, and a dash of mystery. Rated as one of the most anticipated books of the summer, you will not be disappointed! I had no idea that this book was a murder-mystery when I started reading. I thought it would be an easy chic-lit read for the weekend. While it was an easy read, it had more to it than I originally thought. Daphne Berg is a plus-size instagram influencer struggling to make a living for herself as a baby sitter and social media star. Struggling with a lot of her old insecurities, she wonders how she can be "real" to her followers when she is still figuring out who she is. Drue Cavanaugh is her ex-best friend who broke Daphne's heart and confidence years before. Now, Drue is begging for Daphne's help and forgiveness. She wants Daphne to be her maid of honor in her upcoming wedding! Daphne is shocked by the news. Can she allow Drue back in her life? Drue is intoxicating and hard to resist, which pulls Daphne back into her life. It begins to feel like old times again, and then tragedy strikes. Will Daphne be able to figure out the mystery? Read to find out. : ) I give this book 4/5 stars. Big Summer was an easy book to read, and Daphne's character and insecurities were all too relatable. I really appreciated that Daphne grew through out the novel, becoming more secure in her own skin. I would have liked the villains character to be more developed, but overall it is a solid read. 📚Book Review📚 3 stars ⭐⭐⭐ It all starts in 1995. Six college students move into a house. By the end of term, one is dead. It was just an a accident..... right? *dundundun* This book is being compared to Agatha Christie's "And Then There Were None", which I love, so I was super excited to read it! 1 ) Murder house on a lonely island? ✔ 2 ) A group of people with a secret that could destroy them? ✔ 3 ) A killer among them? ✔✔✔ I really enjoyed the journal entries from the killer at the beginning of the chapters. I love when books have those extra touches. I was glued to the pages for hours. I needed to know what happened next! I like that it is split into multiple POV's. It was a little difficult for me to keep everyone straight as to who was who. For some reason, it was harder during the flashbacks. I really had to think of who that person was when they were brought up. Obviously, this is murder island, so it was a little bloody. One scene in particular was more graphic than the others. I am somewhat sensitive to things like that, but it wasn't bad enough to where I felt sick and had to skip over it. I had guesses to who I thought the killer was. Nope. Completely wrong. I even picked an outlandish character who was only mentioned in passing, thinking I was being clever! Towards the end you're saying "Oh! It's that person" "Oh! Cahoots!" "Oh! Completely wrong, never would have guessed!" I would have liked for the final reveal to have been more dramatic....but I'm not sure how it could have been more dramatic than it was? Maybe I just wanted more shock around the reveal? Overall, I enjoyed this book. If you like twist, and whodunit stories, you will definitely like this one! *I received a copy of this book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. Thank you NetGalley, Lauren A. "She Loves Me" by Melissa Foster I have been waiting for Piper and Harvey's love story for so long. It did not disappoint! Piper is so strong (you have to be as a leader in an all male construction crew ) but seeing her soft side was so so nice. Harley is the perfect man. I love his character and his patient and giving side. This man has loved Piper for 3 years. He is the epitome of patience folks! Very well done! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Synopsis: "Something is off in Piper Dalton’s life, and she has a feeling it might just be her. All her siblings are blissfully settled with their forever loves. But while her sisters were dreaming of white weddings, Piper was left heartbroken and commitment phobic by her first love, her best friend’s younger brother. As a woman dominating the male-driven construction industry, Piper has no interest in turning in her hammer for an apron—even if hot and hilarious Harley thinks otherwise. Burly bar owner Harley Dutch has a bum ankle and two preteen nieces to take care of, and having his best friend, tough-as-nails and sexy-as-sin Piper Dalton, come to his rescue is just the remedy he needs. Piper is her snarky self, and she kind of sucks at caregiving, but she’s owned his heart for years, she’s got a way with the girls, and Harley would sure like to have his way with her… As things heat up between Piper and Harley, she warns him not to fall in love with her because she’ll only break his heart. Harley is the right man for that challenge—until he makes the biggest mistake of his life, and they begin to wonder if true love really can conquer all."

🍊🥬A Classics that didn't work for me🥬🍊 I tried reading The Swiss Family Robinson recently and I really didn't like it. You know sometimes you try to read something but your eyes couldn't take the bend with high speed and you end up in the ditch? Yes trying to read this book felt just like that. I rarely dnf a classic and i's added to one of the few classics that I didn't finish. Do you have any classics you tried to love but you couldn't? . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . #Bookstagram #bookstagrammer #readersofig #readersofinstagram #booklove #bookaccount #booklover #booksofinstagram #bookpile #bookworm #bookspines #bookaholic #beautifulbooks #igreads #fiction #ilovereading #bibliophile #booknerdigans #greenbooks #totalbooknerd #bookstack #ireadeverywhere #alwaysreading #theswissfamilyrobinson #books 📚 #windowsill
🍂 books and tea are the only thing keeping me going sometimes. I'm trying to balance studying for my exams and still taking the breaks I need to stay sane, and that includes reading breaks! How have you been dealing with work/life balance in quarantine?
🇬🇧My mood during last week. I didn't post anything for a week because I needed a little break. I had so much work to get done I so much to study that I just needed a little break from Instagram so that I don't blow up under pressure. But I'm fine now, as you can see. I started reading Edgar Allan Po's book Tales of Horror. But I just started so I will update you on what I think about it very soon. I'm now back on track with posting but things like this will probably happen again because I have to focus on studying right now. I'm trying to get in college so you know there has to be a lot of studying done. I hope you understand that, I will try my best to be consistent with my post. • Tell me what have you been up to last week? I what is your self care routine? You can see mine in the photo😅 • • 🇷🇸 Moje raspoloženje u toku prošle nedelje.
What’s a summer release you’re excited about?! 💙 #AutoBuyAuthor Anything by B.A. Paris is an auto-buy for me. I was so excited about her upcoming June 30th release of 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗗𝗶𝗹𝗲𝗺𝗺𝗮 that I knew I had to have this beautiful blue UK cover stat! The Dilemma begins with Livia turning 40, planning the biggest party of her life. She and Adam got married very young and this party is just as much to celebrate their 20+ year relationship as it is to celebrate her milestone birthday. However, Livia has a secret to tell after the party that she’s been keeping from Adam. A secret that will surely change everything. This book is my jam!! 🥰 I love novels that take place within a day, plus ones that alternate POV between two spouses. I can already tell I’m going to love this one unless it completely changes course. TBD in my stories! 😜 ‼️ Note that this is most definitely a departure from previous B.A. Paris thriller novels in that The Dilemma is domestic fiction with a touch of mystery. If you enjoy her writing as much as I do, I say definitely pick this one up! 🍊 Has anybody read SMALL PLEASURES by Clare Chambers yet? There’s so much buzz about this gorgeous book. Can’t wait to dive in. 🍊 @wnbooks
Happy publication day to The Best Man by A.S. Kelly! 🎉 . “My name is Alex Brennan, and this is my story of how I realized I’d lost the most important person in my life, before I even had her.” . So excited that The Best Man has officially released! This was a book that threw me for a loop in the beginning, but by the end, made me so happy. This is a true friends to lovers romance and it deals with all of the obstacles along the way. I couldn’t tell you the last time I read a book based in Ireland, but some of the euphemisms made me laugh out loud. I loved the author’s writing style in this one. The story is told in alternating first person point of views, but in Alex’s chapters, you get a little something extra. Alex will often times address the reader directly - something I wasn’t expecting, but ended up loving. 💕 I hope you’ll fall in love with these characters just as I did. Thank you to @askellywrites for the advanced gifted copy! QUESTION: What point of view or writing style do you prefer in your books?
☺️ . . #mirataschenbuch #rainbowbookshelf #rainbowshelfie #welovebooks #booklover #bookporn #igreads #booklove #instabooks #ilovebooks #ilovereading #bookstagram #germanbookstagram #bookstagramgermany #bookgeek #bookworm #bookstagramer #bibliophile #igbooks #lovetoread #bookstagramfeatures #mybookfeatures #reading #readinglove #bu ̈cherliebe #bookishfeatures
