Mentre @annafffffffffffff all’esame chissà 🤔🙄 • 🍪 Ricetta per 7 cookies senza glutine e senza uova al burro di arachidi e cioccolato: 80g farina di riso 60g burro di arachidi 1 C di ghee (o olio di cocco ) 50g zucchero di cocco 30g cioccolato a pezzetti 50g latte normale o vegetale 1/2 cc bicarbonato Lavorare insieme il burro d’arachidi, il ghee, lo zucchero e il latte. Unire il bicarbonato alla farina e incorporarla al composto. SNACKING & staying healthy during the quarantine... aka how to not eat everything in sight 🤪💫 (this photo was taken before the quarantines 💛 ) i’ve gotten lots of messages asking how to limit snacking & unhealthy treats while in quarantine, so i thought i’d make a post dedicated to it! with not much to do at home, it’s easy to turn to snacking due to boredom. BUTTT! here’s how i deal with snacking, listening to my body, & eating healthy during the quarantine 🌱✨ ⭐️ snack OFTEN, but keep it balanced! my body thrives off eating 5 smaller meals a day (3 mains, 2 snacks ), so you could say i’m the queen snacker 🤪 and i always make sure to include some fats/protein in my snack to make it filling! some examples are 1/2 a cup of fruit with a small handful of nuts, 1 cup of yogurt with berries, or 2 of my AMAZING Bliss Balls (my fave recipe is in my recent post! ) ⭐️ go for a walk or find a new hobby! boredom will often cause you to reach for food when you aren’t hungry, so find something to do! i love going on (social distancing ) walks outside — i’ll put on a podcast (i love @sarahs_day The Health Code 🔥 ) and go on a 1 hour walk whenever i’m feeling too cooped up. ⭐️ spend time baking HEALTHY treats and store them in the freezer so they stay fresh! it can be hard being surrounded by unhealthy food 24/7, but if you always have healthy versions of desserts on hand, you’ll feel less left out when your family starts eating cookies and ice cream 🤪 ⭐️ most importantly, DON’T punish yourself for overeating! these are stressful times, so be compassionate with your body. listen to your hunger cues and avoid overdoing it on the treats, but also know that one day of eating lots of unhealthy dessert won’t derail your fitness goals. just make sure to get back on track the next day! • • • #jazmintylerfitness #iamwellandgood #healthycollegestudent #studentathlete #kenzieburke #foodcombining #mindbodygram #foodblogger #healthblogger #wellnessblogger #gymmotivation #instafit #wedothework #1stphorm #weightlossmotivation #weightlossjourney

Another work at home tip that you just may find yourself thanking me for later. 😉⠀ ⠀ As a personal trainer, a person who's had back injuries, AND someone who spends a lot of time sitting at a desk, I know the importance of saving your back! One of my favorite corrective exercises for “computer posture” is called a “Wall Angel”.⠀ ⠀ Here’s how:⠀ Begin by pressing your back against the wall (make sure you have a decent amount of space on each side! ) and hold out both your arms at a 90-degree angle with your elbows parallel to the ground (think of “stick ‘em up” arms! ).⠀ ⠀ Make sure your WHOLE spine is pressed against the wall, as well as your hips and wrists. This is harder than it sounds! Start with your low back against the wall and if the upper back and wrists don’t touch, just do your best!⠀ ⠀ Ideally, your heels will be as close to the wall as possible. If you’re tight, walk your feet out from the wall and bend the knees, as though you’re doing a wall sit. Don’t compromise the low back and keep it against the wall.⠀ ⠀ Now, the fun part! Keeping your wrists and elbows against the wall at a 90-degree angle, slide your arms up and down the wall like a snow angel, lifting your arms up overhead then back down at your sides, while keeping the low back on the wall. Remember to keep your core tight! ⠀ ⠀ You should definitely feel a good muscle work in between the shoulders! This works the often deactivated lower traps— this helps improve posture, and brings them forward head back in alignment. ⠀ ⠀ Have you tried these? How many can you do before you feel the burn? 🔥

DIY treatment ✨if you don't have all of these oils, no worries! depending on the length of your hair, mix a tsp or tbsp of coconut, olive, and almond oil. add only a couple of drops of rosemary oil! cover your hair with a shower cap and/or a warm towel. leave the oil in for at least 30 minutes and enjoy!

I’ve been pouring a lot of energy/effort/time into growing and caring for my gluten free sourdough starter. I know it may not be the healthiest way to cope, but focusing on this small thing that seems somewhat in my control is comforting. Judging by the flour shortages and the number of people on my feed baking bread, I see that I’m not the only one who feels this way and my conviction that food is, can, and should be considered a source of comfort grows stronger every day. • I’m using the @cannellevanille recipe for the starter but am modifying (with a fair amount of guidance from Aran and a number of other sourdough experts in my life— thanks for putting up with me, @fi .caccia ) and am learning how intuitive this process is, which is a small comfort in itself. I’m planning to finally bake a loaf tomorrow and know that there will be a learning curve and likely some little disasters but I’m excited and ready to take on this small task. • These are waffles I made with discarded starter using a recipe from @seriouseats that I modified to be GF and they were pure joy. Hope you’re staying safe/well/sane and maybe finding a bit of solace in small projects like I am🖤

Happiness is making a simple breakfast, or snack, look like dessert! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Took maybe a couple minutes longer than throwing it all in a bowl but the smile and enjoyment of eating it slower was worth it! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Yep I know it's "Toast Tuesday" but we had toast yesterday, it's National Sourdough Bread Day tomorrow, so I wanted to switch things up. The whole family wanted in and we all enjoyed our customized creations! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Make your own Berry Yogurt Sundae, you'll need: • Berries and/or fruit of choice (we used frozen berries as we are now out of fresh, and bananas ) • Thick plain or vanilla yogurt ( @siggisdairy , a thick greek, or coconut milk ) • Granola or Muesli (used our fav @sevensundaysmn Early Riser Muesli ) • Chocolate or peanut butter ( @cocoabarinajar Pb Cup shown ) ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Layer your berries and granola or muesli and berries. Using an ice cream scoop to scoop yogurt and place on top. Drizzle with chocolate and or peanut butter. Enjoy! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Muesli worked perfectly with the frozen/thawed berries, when they thawed completely the muesli soaked up the extra juices and it was the perfect mixture of textures.
So many Caesar salads during quarantine. Some people were panic buying toilet paper, I panic bought romaine. Served with my kids’ fave pickled red onions + grated parm + garlicky croutons. For the dressing I just whisked a clove of minced garlic with the juice of a small lemon and then emulsified with 1/4 cup of olive oil and seasoned to taste. Sometimes I whisk in a touch of yogurt for creaminess. I always add anchovy paste (1/2 a teaspoon will do ) but with my recent efforts to keep things vegetarian I’ve been leaving it out. If anyone has ideas about how to give the dressing some umami flavor without using anchovies, I’m all ears : )

cheesy sourdough tuna melt🙌🏻 easy & mostly pantry items (minus the celery but you can leave it out ) & always so satisfying😍 . || 1 can of tuna (in olive oil, not drained ) mixed with avocado oil mayo + a squeeze of spicy brown mustard + celery, chopped (or a sprinkle of celery seed ) + garlic powder + salt + pepper on 2 slices of homemade sourdough + topped with cheddar cheese until bubbly & melted || 🧀 . hope you enjoy this tuesday💛
something i’ve been adding to my morning routine is writing gratitudes. it’s really easy right now to fall into the sadness trap. for yourself. for others. for the world. but every morning when i do this it shifts my perspective. because in every situation there are things to be grateful for. but, sometimes we have to dig a little harder to find those things. i recognize i am extremely blessed in this situation and for that i am so grateful. but that doesn’t mean i can’t also be struggling. we are all struggling in our own, unique ways. for that reason, sometimes i do this for myself. sometimes i do it for the current situation. sometimes i do a mix of whatever just feels right. i am thinking of you all during this crazy time. if you’re struggling, or if even if you’re not, i challenge you to try this. it has helped me more than i could have l imagined ♡ always here for you ps. this delish golden milk latte is 1.5 tsp @lunafixa + 1 cup hot water + 1/2 cup @malkorganics oat milk xx #malsfitkitchen

Day 16: 🥕🥕🥕 Roasted Carrots with Salsa Verde and Lavender-Sumac Yogurt Serves 4-6 INGREDIENTS 1 pound whole heirloom carrots 2 Tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil Kosher salt 1 cup Greek yogurt ½ teaspoon lavender buds, ground in a mortar & pestal, plus a couple of buds for garnish 1 teaspoon sumac, plus a pinch for garnish For salsa verde 1 1/2 cups packed, roughly chopped flat leaf parsley 2/3 cup extra virgin olive oil 1/4 cup capers, drained 1 Tablespoon white wine vinegar 2 medium cloves garlic, minced Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper DIRECTIONS Preheat oven to 425. Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil and set aside. Trim the carrots' leafy tops down to about 2″. Drizzle 1 tablespoon of oil over the carrots and toss to coat evenly, then season with kosher salt . Roast in preheated oven for about 20-30 minutes, or until al dente. You want that crunch there. Meanwhile mix together yogurt, lavender and sumac. Garnish with a couple of lavender buds, a pinch of sumac and a drizzle of olive oil. Set aside. For salsa verde, place parsley, olive oil, anchovies, vinegar and garlic in food processor fitted with a steel blade. Pulse until parsley is well chopped, stopping to scrape down sides of bowl as necessary. Season sauce with salt and pepper to taste. Place carrots on plate with salsa verde either under or over them. Top everything with a nice dollop of yogurt mixture. Or you can use the yogurt as a dip. It's a very versatile dish!

FRENCH TOAST STICKS. Can be vegan. . . Ingredients: 6 slices of whole grain bread 3 flax eggs or regular eggs (1 flax egg= 1 tbs flax meal, 1.5 tbs water ) 1/3 cup almond milk 1 tsp cinnamon 1 tsp vanilla dash salt Optional: add in the maple syrup into the mixture. . . Directions: 1. Beat the eggs, vanilla, cinnamon until foamy. Add in the milk. If you’re making them vegan, beat the flax eggs first and then add the rest of the ingredients. 2. Cut the bread into sticks. If you’re making them vegan, toast the bread! just until it hardens slightly. this prevents the bread from getting soggy. 3. coat the bread in the mixture. Sit it in the mixture on each side for about 20 seconds. 4. Heat your preferred fat over a skillet (butter, Coconut oil, etc ). Cook the bread on medium heat for about 3 minutes on each side or until desired color. 5. Serve with your favorite toppings! I kept it simple with some butter, syrup & confection sugar! 6. Enjoy : )

I find it kinda funny that I decided to take a break from teaching yoga for the first time a week before everything shut down. I had felt a weird shift within my body for a while just telling me it’s what I needed to do. It was really hard to step back. But I simply needed a break. To learn more. Be more. Be better. I signed up for teacher training in 2015 because I felt suffocated at my corporate job. I signed up because the idea of being a yoga teacher felt cool. I wish I had a better story, that yoga changed my life (it did, eventually ) or that it helped me overcome some intense struggle. Nope. Just liked the idea of it. Now I cringe at the way I was back then. Why? I quickly saw that it wasn’t all pretty poses and nice outfits and gratitude journaling. I was very lucky to personally have had mostly positive experiences, but I saw it happen to others around me, all the time. Pettiness. Competition. Playing favorites. I was dismally underpaid. Disposable. I sacrificed myself mentally and broke every joint in my body. I adored my fellow teachers and my students but it was hard to see past the elephant in the room that this whole industry puts what holds it together—TEACHERS, at the bottom. Eventually I started seeing copies of my younger, less wise self shuffle through. I yearned to tell them but didn’t want to discourage so I stayed quiet. I praised the community and only said good things about others no matter how dark I felt on the inside. And we never talk about this. Why do we never talk about it? I feel wrong even typing this out loud. But it’s important. And it’s the reason I’m taking time to backtrack, to relearn my “why” because it’s completely different than it was before. I know the teaching will always be there for me and I know the students will too. If it comes back to me, then in due time it will. For now, I’m gonna go be my own teacher for a while. #purpose

In a blender soak 1/4 cup cashews for about an hour, drain the water, add about 1/3 cup of almond milk, 1 tsp garlic, 2 tsp balsamic vinegar, 1 tbsp nutritional yeast, a pinch of salt + pepper + blend! Pour into saucepan + add on your cooked noodles then put on top of a bed of greens + enjooooy!

happy Sunday! we’re starting our day off on a sweet note with my vegan, gluten-free oat flour crepes, made with only 5 simple ingredients! 🍓I filled mine with a chocolate hazelnut spread, but the filling options are endless- sweet or savory 🤩 full recipe below👇🏼 vegan crepes, makes 5-6: 1 1/2 cup oat flour 1/4 cup tapioca flour 1 tbsp pure maple syrup 1 1/4 cup non-dairy milk, plus an extra 1/4 cup to thin between batches 2 tbsp melted coconut oil or avocado oil Filling options: chocolate hazelnut spread, yogurt, nut butter, fruit Whisk together all crepe ingredients until smooth, except for the extra 1/4 cup milk. Heat a large pan on medium heat and spray with cooking oil. Pour about 1/3 cup of batter into the pan and swirl around so the batter spreads thinly and evenly. Cook for about 2 minutes per side. Add 1 tbsp of milk between each batch to thin the batter. Fill with desired toppings

Grab the recipe deets below 👇🏻👇🏻 . ~3 sweet potatoes and ~3 Yukon gold potatoes (or any 🥔 of your choice ) 1 1/2 cups milk or whipping cream 🥛 2-3 cloves of minced garlic 1 tablespoon of chopped chives 1 tablespoon of chopped, fresh rosemary 1/2 tablespoon of dried oregano 🌿 1/2 cup bone broth or vegetable broth 1 cup grated cheddar and/or Gruyère 🧀 1/2 teaspoon sea salt 🧂 black pepper to taste . Instructions 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 Preheat your oven to 425F and spray avocado oil or any non-stick cooking spray on your bakeware. Layer your potatoes in a 11x9 inch baking dish or Pyrex and sprinkle some cheese in between each potato layer. In a medium sauce pan at medium/low heat combine milk or whipping cream, broth, garlic, and salt & let it simmer for about 5 mins and then pour over your potatoes. Sprinkle with pepper and herbs. Leave some herbs behind to top it after it emerges from the oven. Cover with aluminum foil and bake for ~30 minutes. Sprinkle with remaining cheese and bake uncovered (sans foil ) until golden brown and edges are bubbling for another 25 minutes. Enjoy! #vegetarianfood #potatolove . Orange + chocolate lovers, you’re welcome. 😚⠀ ⠀ You can do this with any fruit but I love this combo. ⠀ ⠀ I melted 1 tbsp of coconut oil, took it off the heat, added 1/4 unsweetened chocolate chips (I used @lilys_sweets ) or you could use 1-2 tbsp. of cacao powder if you like the taste of really dark chocolate (sweeten with some maple syrup or other sweetener if you would like ).
